Dhaka International Trade Fair 2023

Every year, the Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh (EPB) arranges an international trade fair in the capital city of Bangladesh named the Dhaka international trade Fair (DITF). It gets inaugurated at the beginning of each year by the Ministry of Commerce.

From its starting date, this international trade fair lasts for about 1 month and it hosts half a thousand stalls, shops, pavilions, and venues for various organizations.

In 2023, people are expecting this fair to be a grand event because 2023 is the second year after the country has recovered from the global pandemic.

Venue of Dhaka International Trade Fair 2023

The international trade Fair in Dhaka is going to be held at “Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre” Purbachal. This venue is a mega project of the government that is situated in Purbachal, which is on the Eastern outskirt of the capital city.

Although this venue is on the outskirts of Dhaka City, it’s not extremely far away.

Specifically, this venue is only 18 km away from the Shahjalal International Airport.

So, it only takes about 45 minutes to commute to this venue through local transport.

Previous venue of the Dhaka International Trade Fair

Up until 2021, the Dhaka International Trade Fair used to be arranged at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (in the west side compound), Begum Rokeya Avenue, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka 1207.

However, commuting and reaching this particular place turned out to be very difficult due to extreme traffic jams and a high number of visitors.

Consequently, the Ministry of Commerce decided to change the venue of the Dhaka International Trade Fair.

As a result, the venue for the Dhaka International Trade Fair is now selected to be in Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center, Purbachal.

DITF 2023: Ticket Price

In 2022, the entry ticket price for the Dhaka International Trade Fair was between 20 taka to 40 taka. For adults, the ticket price was 40 taka and it was 20 taka for minors under 12 years of age.

Ticket price in 2023: In 2023, the ticket prices are going to be very similar to the previous year. However, it might increase a bit (about 25%).

Specifically, the ticket price for DITF 2023 is going to be anything between 30tk to 60tk (approximately).

Starting Date and Duration

According to official sources, the Dhaka International Trade Fair 2023 is set to start on 01 January 2023. And, this event is said to be finished on 31 January 2023.

However, there’s a high chance that the international trade fair duration will be prolonged for an additional week, according to unofficial sources.

That means that the Dhaka International Trade Fair can last through the first week of February 2023.
